Frame and Hang Your Stained Glass Projects
This framing stained glass class will teach you how to create a beautiful frame for your stained glass pieces using nickel, zinc, or copper came. This technique is commonly known as “leaded glass” and is suitable for stained glass projects including leaded glass and the Louis Comfort Tiffany method. This technique class requires students to have completed either Introduction to the Beautiful World of Stained Glass or have other stained glass experience including soldering and permission of the instructor.
Students use their intro class project to finish and hang. Students who have other projects should contact the studio prior to class.
Class size is limited to only 4 students
Materials included in your class fee : solder, flux, rings, zinc or copper came/channel for your original Introduction to the Beautiful Art of Stained Glass class project. There will be a an additional supply fee if project size is different (i.e. optional borders and projects done outside of class) Please contact the studio prior to class for instructions and possible additional fees. We will ask you to send a photo and size of your project if it was not made here in the intro class. In January 2023, Border class and Finishing class will be combined and can be taken in one day if desired. Borders is an optional two hour session.to be taken before Hang Your Glass with is 3 hours. If you choose to take both, plan on 5 hour total class time. . Borders is an optional class and not a prerequisite for Hang Your Glass.
Please bring a pair of safety glasses or purchase from the studio ($5). Wear closed toe shoes, no sandals in the glass lab.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Stained Glass class, stained glass experience,
permission of the instructor.
Cost: $150 includes materials to hang your class project created in Introduction to The Beautiful World of Stained Glass , 4 week session. All other projects will have an additional supply fee. Check with the studio if you are bringing a different project from the one you made in the 4 week class or if you’ve added a border. Larger projects will have an added supply fee for supplies.
