Want to learn to make your own glass beads for jewelry? In this introductory level workshop, students are introduced to the diversity and fun of glass bead making using a modern high tech torch in a state of the art glass studio. Class begins with an overview of safety and types of glass. Techniques offered in this class: simple and complex bead shapes, frit and stringer application, heat control, and more techniques as time permits. This class is designed for those with little or no prior torchwork experience. Students create several beads suitable for jewelry. Tools and eye protection provided.
Studio 34 is known for our small class size to maximize student learning and enjoyment. Maximum class size is just 6 students. Minimum age 16.
This class qualifies students for Open Studio/Open Torch where students can practice skills learned in class. (See Open Studio/Open Torch guidelines).
