Love your birds, gardens , glass? Check out these new projects for glass artists. We are so happy to have Yvonne Fordham teaching this class. Yvonne is a master gardener and a talented glass artist.
Learn about the science of melting glass , cutting and shaping glass, and basic fusing techniques. Explore what goes on in the kiln when the glass goes in. Students learn how to safely cut circles and design components.
Students provide their own protective eye wear or purchase from the instructor ($5) . Glass tools provided. However, if you have your own, bring what you have and we’ll show you how to use them. Tuition includes two kiln firings ( fuse and slump). Bird bath cast iron or steel stand is not included in class fee and may be purchased at class. Materials included in class fee: unlimited trips to the glass buffet : stringers, puddles , dots and frit. Project consists of one layer of clear glass and one layer of transparent glass plus design components.
No open toe shoes or sandals please.

Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Prerequisite: No prior experience needed. Students who already have some glass scoring/shaping experience will advance their skills while learning to cut large circles and custom designs.
