Make your own sterling silver band ring from scratch !
Introduction to Metalsmith Techniques Band Rings
For beginners and those with some metals experience, add ring making to your tool box. Here are some of the techniques in this class including: sawing, hammering, filing, textures, sizing and applying letters/ dates.
Polish and complete your rings to highlight texture or keep them shiny and smooth ! This workshop is designed for beginners and those with little metals experience. Sterling silver is included or choose from other base metals. This is not the same class as stacking rings where you make multiple rings. The class to make multiple stacking rings is called “Stacking Rings”. This class is “from scratch”: students learn to cut and size metal. We do not use pre cut metal blanks.
There is no stone setting or soldering in this class. Stone setting is taught in the intermediate bezel, tube, or prong setting classes, or beginner tab setting. This introduction class demonstrates soldering techniques. Interested in learning how to solder? Check our Soldering 101 for intermediate jewelry artists.
